If you are already a patient, you may find some of the following information helpful in preparing for your visit:
Drs. Coleman and Henderson both follow the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines for well child care and immunizations.
According to the Bright Futures Initiative, well child visits are recommended at the following ages:
- Prenatal Visit (if desired by parent(s) -- at no charge)
- Newborn Visit (usually 3 to 5 days after hospital discharge)
- 2 to 3 Week Visit
- 2 month Visit (this is usually the first visit that includes immunizations)
- 4 month Visit
- 6 month Visit
- 9 month Visit
- 12 month Visit (often includes blood tests)
- 15 month Visit
- 18 month Visit (first autism screening)
- 24 month Visit
- 30 month Visit (not always necessary, but recommended by AAP)
- 36 month / 3 year Visit
- Then, annual visits from 3 to 18 years
